Tolu Arokodare, the Nigerian forward, emerged as the key figure, securing a remarkable brace that propelled KRC Genk to a commanding 3-0 victory over champions Royal Antwerp at the Cegeka Arena.

The hosts swiftly seized the lead in the 10th minute courtesy of Gambia’s forward Alieu Fadera, setting the tone for an impressive performance.

Arokodare’s entry into the game at the 69th-minute mark proved pivotal as he swiftly made his impact felt. The 23-year-old Nigerian swiftly doubled Genk’s advantage in the 75th minute, capitalizing on an assist from fellow countryman Yira Sor.

Displaying his prowess, the striker sealed his brace with an exceptional solo effort in the 77th minute, securing a comprehensive victory for Genk.

Arokodare’s stellar performance adds to his tally, marking six goals in 19 league appearances for the Smurfs this season. Notably, he becomes the second player in the Belgian Pro League this season to secure a brace after entering the game as a substitute.
