Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has advised Noni Madueke to push for improvement and competitiveness to secure more playing time this season.
Madueke made a move to Stamford Bridge from PSV Eindhoven for nearly £29 million in January. However, he has yet to establish himself as a pivotal figure under Pochettino’s leadership.
The 21-year-old winger has contributed two goals in 20 appearances across various competitions for Chelsea.
During his press conference before Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League clash with Wolves, Pochettino addressed Madueke’s situation: “Since the start of the season, he had some involvement, then encountered periods where he wasn’t included, faced injuries, and had some setbacks.”
“Noni operates in a highly competitive position with numerous players in that area. He needs to strive, elevate his performance, and compete for his spot.”
“Currently, he’s recovered from injury and might feature in the upcoming games.”
