Plateau: Tinubu reacts as bandits kill 115, kidnap scores, burn down 17 communities

President Bola Tinubu strongly condemned the brutal attacks in Plateau State’s Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas, where over 115 individuals fell victim to bandit violence on Christmas Eve.

Gunmen raided these local councils, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 115 lives and the destruction of 17 communities. The state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, confirmed these distressing casualties and the significant devastation, noting that numerous residents are still unaccounted for.

In response to this appalling incident, Tinubu, via his spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, issued a statement from Abuja. The President directed immediate action by security agencies to thoroughly search the affected area, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure justice is served.

Additionally, Tinubu instructed the swift mobilization of relief aid for surviving victims and urgent medical assistance for the wounded.

Expressing heartfelt condolences to the Plateau State government and its people, the President reassured Nigerians that those responsible for these acts of violence and tragedy will face the full force of justice.
